Mahni Shayganfar is an AI expert with a track record in multi-disciplinary research and engineering of AI applications across various industries and academia. Mahni has cross-functional and cross-cultural work experience in different countries including the United States, Europe, Middle East and most recently Africa.
Mahni’s focus is on human-centered leadership in innovative organizations and integration of AI into existing technologies. Mahni had been involved in several product development processes in various industries. He led multiple teams from conception to product-ready prototypes on actual hardware and software products.
Mahni offers his time pro bono for crafting an AI vision and strategy with respect to Maternal Health Foundation’s objectives. He investigates use cases where integration of AI can be provided as part of antenatal care to reduce the mortality and morbidity rate caused by obstetric complications in under-resourced settings including Sub-Saharan countries. He also works on evangelizing and educating the organization and its partners in order to illuminate AI capabilities and limitations for the executives and our board members. Mahni helps to cultivate the required talents and collaboration with partners and supports the development of our programs in different countries with respect to the cultural, ethical and technical regulatory environments.
Mahni’s research interests are Large Language Models, Generative AI and innovative approaches to bring AI into organizations to enable them to increase their impact in the real world. Mahni holds a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on human-machine collaboration, and a MBA with a focus on leadership in innovative organizations.
